Founded in 1962 by Richard Conway (senior) to provide grass cutting, soft landscaping and tree care services initially to local authorities in the South East corner of Surrey, Grasstex has continued to grow over the following four and a half decades.

With highly skilled, committed and well-trained teams carrying out a wide variety of tasks to professional standards, Grasstex can be relied upon to provide unbeaten service. Continued growth has seen the company expanding to carry out large and small projects across Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and further afield, serving commercial, public and private sectors.

The late 90’s saw the launching of Active Grounds Maintenance Limited to provide much sought after services for outdoor sports facilities, bowling greens and gardens. Insistence on satisfying the highest quality standards has led to the award of several standards of excellence. The company has expanded to cover sports pitch construction and renovation projects across the country.  

Both companies are based at Ellens Green on the borders of Surrey and West Sussex from where local and the outlying corners of the whole of Southern England from South London to the Kent coast and across to the borders of the West Country are in easy reach.

Committed fully to a policy of continuous learning, education and development, senior managers and supervisors have amassed many years of experience, which they pass on to younger members of their team through practical on-the-job training. All employees are encouraged to enhance their skills by formal college based courses. This policy ensures Grasstex is able to provide a full range of high quality, professional skills to every project undertaken.
